• Required Skills:​

  • Advertising sales experience - a must!

  • Strong sales and negotiation skills

  • Ability to develop and maintain advertiser relationships​​

  • Sell print ads to local businesses

  • Work 10-20 hours per month

  • Work with editor each month, placing ads

Freelance Positions in Writing and Photography

(Contract Compensation)​​

Looking for part-time/freelance reporters and photographers to cover assigned sporting and community events, interview members of the community, and write stories and/or provide photos on a variety of topics for a local paper. Community journalism is a plus but we’re willing to train. Compensation is per story (or set of photos).​

• Required Skills:​

  • Freelance reporters: Ability to attend and report on events, interview people, research information (via calls, internet, etc.) as needed, and write assigned articles in a timely manner ​​

  • Freelance photographer: Ability to capture everything from the action of a soccer game to a heartwarming moment among neighbors to the beauty of the natural local scenery. Must have your own camera equipment. 

  • Background or coursework in journalism, communications, photography, or related field a plus.​
